This network contains Christmas Tree Lots & Pumpkin Patches that are located throughout each DMA on street corners, shopping plazas, grocery stores, and independent farms. 98% of all Christmas trees are grown on farms, while only 2% are cut from the wild. More than 2,000 trees are usually planted per acre, on average 1,000 – 1,500 of these trees will survive. There are approximately 25 – 30 million real Christmas trees sold in the U.S. every year. Over 90,000 acres of pumpkins are grown in the U.S each year. During the Fall season, pumpkins are purchased every year to make soaps, desserts, breads, pies, and carving pumpkins.
